women weave intricate, believable plots around sympathetic
characters, with an emphasis on empathy. We eagerly await Ms. Harper's
next endeavor.

The best film ever made about the seamy side of Broadway. The cast is superb as is the cinematography (Howe) and the writers - one of whom was Clifford Odets. Catch it on the big screen if you can.
