As someone who is obsessed with the book series, this show is hugely disappointing and could've been amazing if they stuck to the book storyline and sequel. Personally, none of the characters were accurately portrayed and the most of the plot points in the show are stupid.
Maybe it would be enjoyable if it didn't claim it was 'based on the book'. I can see how it may be a good watch for people who have never read the books.
