Lightyear falls flat in almost every way. The storyline is a confusing mess, lacking the charm and creativity of the Toy Story franchise. The characters are underdeveloped, and Buzz Lightyear himself feels like a shadow of the beloved toy we know. The animation, while technically proficient, doesn't compensate for the uninspired plot and dialogue. They truly went astray attempting to cater and fit to another audience; this was unnecessary. It's a disappointing addition to Pixar's otherwise stellar lineup, failing to capture the magic and heart that made previous films so memorable. Save your time and money; this one was not worth the hype.
