Maybe I'm the odd ball out but I loved the Broadway version, the original film, the second film, on stage remakes, and now the prequel. Keep in mind, each were made for different generations in different time periods. To say the original film fully depicted the 50s is ignorant because it had touches of the 70's. The theme of the show is on point with the series; outcasts finding their way. The music was good. I also enjoyed the theme of hypocrisy as that was and always has been society. 🤷🏻♀️
