Did the makers of this show even read the books??!!!!? This tv series is an utter bastardisation of the books. Misrepresenting the whole storyline, so many inconsistencies and pale imitations of easy to produce props, styles and characters that it is a huge disappointment. I know the limits of budgets etc and one cant expect all of the adventures but creating new characters that lead nowhere, leaving out others that are a thread through the whole series is shooting themselves in the foot. Lan wears his sword ON HIS HIP not behind his back. Thom Merrilin has handlebar mustaches. Bella the horse carrys on through until the end - they lost her early on at Shador Logoth. The Amylin is supposed to have BLUE eyes!!! She is NOT a black woman! She is NOT Moraine's lover, the woman playing her is half asleep and is not the firecracker in the books and TOO BLOODY OLD!!! Not travelling with horses through the Ways is stupid! Are they going to run down the dark one on foot??! What is wrong with doing the things that are described in the book? And then they replace them with something totally different that just doesn't cut it.. These things are important to the story and make it believable! Do they think they are better than the master story teller?? They have done an ordinary job of mangling the story up. Acting is ok - so far. Scenery is great. CGI is passable. Writers and producers get a ONE out of ten. Acting 7/10. Scenery 9/10. Believeable characters are Moraine, Lan, Nynaeve, Rand, some of the aes sedai. Stupid portrayal of characters are Suian Sanche the Amyrlin, Min Farshaw, Mat Cauthon is sleezy. Padan Fain is a pale fellow with a hooked nose not a black man. The producers go so far to try not to be racist that they are racist! Black people, asians of every kind, spanish and italian's even but very few whiteys when they are described in the books as such, plenty opportunities for powerful characters to be represented by coloured people (which they should be) its a mish mash with no connections! Everyone is Shienar is asian except Uno who looks like a small viking. The Seanchan damane have a thing over their mouth not a leash and collar around their neck! The producers have got carried away with their own self interest and importance. I throw my hands up in the air at least 3 times per episode in dismay. Anyone would think they are trying to LOSE an audience with this garbage.
