Simply awful. I’m a parent of an eight year old who was really upset by this book. It hit too close to home on a number of fronts and should have a trigger warning. As a child adjusting to a blended family it has raised concerns and scenarios that could have been more positively framed. I’m not a parent who sugar coats everything, but this was like opening a pistachio shell with a sledgehammer.
