as a person of a younger age, i LOVE this movie. i’ve watched this movie ever since i was really little. it’s a little cheesy & a bit out of touch, but it’s honestly hilarious if you appreciate slapstick comedies. the cast is hilarious as it’s a bunch of middle-aged people trying to pass as college students, but that’s just the charm of the 1963 movie. professor kelp is a “silly little guy” who brings disaster where he goes. it is entertaining to watch him awkwardly navigate his life. jerry lewis perfects the character of this certain archetype. i would 100 percent recommend watching this movie at least once in your lifetime. i don’t think you’d regret it. even if you don’t like it, it’s a classic.
