I was surprised by the very confident jump scare un reliant tone this movie took and the practical dive into the familial relationship difficulties that are abviousoy going to be present given what happened in the first two movies. It was refreshing that it wasn’t brushed over, and leant into. I understand this might have disappointed some viewers who went for the jump scares, and the nightmarish shrieking strings soundtrack that unnerved me for the first two films about this family.
But I found myself being unnerved more by the uncanny portrayal of a family trying hard to stay unbroken after being shattered.
I utterly enjoyed this and would be very happy to watch it again.
