This game is a wonderful combination of violence, humor, and sex with superb graphics, wonderful NPCs, and challenging quests. It is programmed for guys, since there is only one player character, Geralt of Rivera, a Witcher. It comes with two extension modules that are well worth purchasing, i.e. “Heart of Stone” and “Blood and Wine”,
I have found what I consider to be a design flaw in the “Blood and Wine” extension. Like many D&D genera games, the player character gains experience for leveling up and acquiring new capabilities by killing hostiles and completing quests. In general, the higher the level of monster or hostile humanoid dispatched, the more experience one gains for Geralt, but around level 50, one gains the same number of experience points for dispatching a level 1 wild dog as a level 40 Hanse hound or other level 40+ monster in “Blood and Wine” which makes it very tedious to continue leveling up, and makes it pointless to seek out high level monster to kill if the purpose is to acquire the 2000 experience points needed to level up. One gets 2 experience points for killing a level 1 dog and 2 experience points for killing a level 40+ wild boar. The Blood and Wine extended Player character interface implies that to activate the highest number of capabilities, one has to level up to about 65 (which makes the odds of surviving the final boss battle a lot better than say level 55). It would be a significant improvement if Projekt Red could modify the programming to make experience gained proportional to the level of the hostile despatched for all levels of the player character.
