Absolutely ridiculous movie. At first I thought it had some ‘substance’ to it but then I just realised the director and writer were ‘substance’ abusing. Seriously though, it seemed like it was going somewhere, and then it just pivoted and turned into an absolute waste of time. It was loud for no reason, the story line went out the window, there was gratuitous gore which I’m generally not averse to but this time it was just weird. It felt like the team just gave up in the making of it, lost their way, and handed off the project to their little 7 year old brother to finish. Do yourself a favour and don’t watch it in cinemas, it’s not worth it. I feel deceived, and now realise why the ‘trailer’ (if you could call it that) was just a picture of the activator substance bottle and clearly hand selected quotes from the only movie critics that gave them somewhat good reviews. Honestly I want a refund of my ticket! I was willing to get up and leave if it weren’t for seeing the movie with my husband who was willing to stay.
