Tox Mars

I have never had a negative opinion of a Pokemon game before. I've been very forgiving. But this game is no good. Mega Evolution is back, but the pokemon in this game do not have Abilities, which eliminates part of what made Megas so fun and useful. Some of the items that were advertised are locked behind ranked battling, meaning they are unobtainable for many players. There is way too much handholding at the beginning of the game, making it feel like you are doing chores instead of exploring a city. The city map is incredible small feeling. There is a jump in the middle of the game from rank V to F, meaning a huge chunk of what I assumed would be game is skipped. Character customization is just ok. There were more options for facial features in Scarlet and Violet, but there are more clothing options in ZA. The list goes on. I was willing to look past most of this and have a decent time, until I learned that I couldn't have a mega chesnaught, mega delphox, or mega greninja (which, I wasn't aware were only obtained through ranked battling. I know, I was a little behind in knowing that.) I'm sure there are people who will like the game, but I am extremely disappointed. As a consolation, I do like the pokemon options there are despite how limited they are.
