I saw critics giving this movie a low rating, but I wanted to give it a try anyway. I wanted to love this movie, because I really like the story line. I feel like it had potential, but it was just so slow rolling. I kept waiting for it to pick up, but there was no depth and the movie was kinda boring. I can’t decide if the actress was just shy, or if they made her character out to be kinda plain. I remember her from I think bates motel, & I thought she was good in that. I also agree with a lot of other people who left reviews. A lot of the scenes were her just kind of staring off into space with perfect makeup. When her little brother died, I thought I was gonna see her be hysterical, but it was only just a few tears roll down her cheek. She didn’t have much expression about anything. I don’t mean to bash her as a person or an actress, because behind the scenes, maybe that’s just the way it was supposed to be and it could be more on the directors than it could the actors. We don’t know. With all of that being said, I thought she looked really beautiful in the movie and she has really pretty eyes.

I… don’t know how to explain it. The movie was a let down. I love Jenna Ortega, so I could not wait to watch this. I said for weeks on end, I could not wait to see it. So I rented it when I saw it was Amazon Prime. Jenna Ortega is one of my top favorite actresses, if not my favorite, and she was perfect as usual. But the movie itself.. was just missing something. It just didn’t like put me on the edge of my seat. It felt like the movie was pointless to watch, and like the story line was pointless. When it ended I was just kind of like … okay? As said, I love Jenna. I loved the mysterious like mystical vibe of the movie. It gave me like Twilight vibes the way it was filmed, and the way is was delivered. But other than that, I can’t explain it. It felt like I was excited over nothing. I felt like I kept waiting for like a crazy twist or something jaw dropping and it just didn’t happen. I expected it to be steamier than it was. I expected him to actually like be more involved with her if that makes sense? Without giving too much away, it didn’t really show much of anything as far as their relationship goes. Like the only point of the story seemed like it was for her to try to ruin his life? I don’t get it. lol once again, just odd and a total let down. I’m sorry. I will still continue watching movies with Jenna in it though.
