It was definitely very very slow and the ending made it completely not worth rewatching. What the movie did impeccably is its cinematography and delving deeper into what Arthur sees through Jokerโs eyes, it brings the audience directly into his brain and gives a great understanding of his very expansive mental problems. Same goes for Harley Quinn.
*MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD FROM HERE ON*
The ending was completely unexpected and that wouldโve been a great thing if it was actually a good ending. Ultimately, Arthur (The Joker) ends up getting caught by the police again anyway, is thrown back into Arkham, and shortly after, he is then shanked to death in a hallway by another inmate.
Yep, you read that right. Joker dies.
I donโt understand why they would do that, next to the godlike performance that was Heath Ledger, Joaquin Phoenix was by far the best live action Joker ever.
Jokerโs death in the last minutes of the movie feels so wrong and incorrect that it actually also feels fake and unbelievable.
