What can I say other than this game is so disappointing that it retroactively hurts my enjoyment of its predecessors. For those of you who have never played Dragon Age, this is an action heavy, lighthearted romp with novice writing in a world that has a lot of depth and history. The villains are one dimensional, the companions are nothing but agreeable to you and vice versa, and the story is predictable and derivative. If it were not a Dragon Age game, I would give it a solid 6/10 For those of you who ARE Dragon Age fans, this game is a disaster. The dialogue in every cutscene feels like someone sat down and said "I think these characters should talk about this" and just wrote slop to provide exposition. There has been no care to preserve the quality, theming, or consistency of writing from previous installments. Right down to the music, it's a sad facsimile of a true DA title. The "anti-woke" crowd is a loud and unfortunate minority in negative reviews, making it easy to invalidate true criticism of this title. But take it from me, as a fan for over. a decade who is also part of the LGBT community, this game is not worth you money and certainly isn't worth your time.
