Matt Dority

After one scene in the theater with Nic Cage overacting his character with dialogue that seemed lifted from a random 90s angst song, I actually laughed out loud at how bad it was. It’s a good movie from some angles, but the dialogue and acting were bad. I think Cage’s character was the biggest miss, he is written as being very mentally ill, more sad than actually scary. I personally would’ve liked it so much more if his character had been intelligent and composed as a worshipper of the devil, not some repulsive denizen of society.
