Having read the book I was apprehensive going to the play, I wasn't sure how they would be able to portray the depth of the characters. Wow - I was blown away from the start.
James Norton showed the complexity of Judes character - the highs and OMG the lows. You felt the depth of friendship and love from Willem (Luke Thompson), the unconditional love of a father from Zubin Varla and the cynical manipulation of Brother Luke, Caleb and the doctor (Elliot Cohen).
I don't know how they perform this over and over again - I couldn't watch it again the emotion was so deep.
Well done - best theatre experience I think I have ever had.
