I saw it three times last week. At first I thought it was going to start off sloppy. But as I sat through the movie, I looked deeper into the character, Superman. I don't care what the social media says about him. At least he's not played by Henry Cavil. This is the light of hope this world needs today. There's too much darkness in movies people are seeing. I need something bright and hopeful.
Although I like Christopher Reeve as Superman, David Corenswet as Superman in this movie is the one everyone needs. A light of hope that Christopher Reeve has left in this world since 1978. We need more hope through this movie. If you look past the dragging scenes, you will see how Human Superman is rather than what he can do with his powers. He saves people and brings them hope.
Plus, the smile he gives makes me feel peaceful. Like the future of DC movies will get a breath of fresh air away from all the dark, foreboding DCU movies. Maybe the costume designer might give David a proper Superman suit. I like Christopher Reeve's suit from 1978. Close to the comic book like the character just flew out of the pages and onto the screen for everyone to see and believe a man could fly.
