My Fair Lady is only surpassed by Sound of Music. It is a marvelous film. George Bernard Shaw loved women, and many of his plays have this contest of wills between them. Any the music and words are so clever, and the melodies so beautiful. When people say they don't like this, it means they don't like musicals. 1964 is a few years before the peak of western civilization, we haven't anything of this quality in decades, perhaps only Into the Woods reaches this level in the last 30 years.

It's a pretty funny show. It's basically a black version of Curb Your Enthusiasm, with a less whiney protagonist. It's very LA, and fairly stuffed with insider jokes about the entertainment biz. The battles between Rashida and Kenya are fairly amusing. I think this show accomplishes more in its few episodes than all the BLM protests did. Humor digs a lot deeper than violence and looting. Will Rodgers was the original master at this type of social humor, and Kenya i believe is striving for this kind of fence straddling balance. It's an admirable effort.

Best costumes ever; a subtle sharkskin effect. Quite pretty film.

An exceptionally well-cast movie. It's a great book as well. I think it is the first hippie book. The theory underlying the book is that love is the most important thing in relationships. Not financial security, class alignment, approval of the families, etc. If you are not in survival, and England was relatively prosperous by the time the book was written, there is no excuse not to pair up with someone you actually love.
