I don't understand why people are saying the director is trying to expose something by bringing light to it and then being hypocritical by having the girls act in the very same way as the thing she's trying to expose.. Cant you see the director isn't being hypocritical.. She is showing in her own art form that young girls at this age, when left to their own devices along with living in the age of social media and peer pressure CAN act like this, HAVE THE ABILITY to be influenced in this way. The film is showing what a young girls environment and surroundings CAN and in this case DOES do to a girl in the way she perceives things around her and acts on them.. I dont see what's hypocritical about that. Its like people wanted a film that exposed this kind of behavior and viewpoint in the way they see fit... The director did show this in her own way.. It exposed it in the sense of this is how young woman can be pressured and act, she showed it in the form of girls being a certain way.. Just because this wasn't a film that screamed "what these girls are doing is meant for older woman who understand", it showed instead saying "see what can happen".. It may not be for you.. But it's not hypocritical.. And it's still art speaking on something serious.. Everyone wants to.silence a platform ultimately trying to.do something good.. Yet a movie like hostile where someone's dick is cut off and fed to rabid dogs , movies with extremely vivid sexual innuendos or straight up scenes, or certain adult comedies exploiting women aren't bitched about ( don't have a problem with any of those by the way).. Just not understanding some of the comments.. Ultimately it's art the directors want to put out for their own reasons.. Watch it or don't.. THAT part IS your choice
