The Waiting is about waiting for Harry Bosch to appear intermittently in the book while reading about Renee Ballard and Maddie Bosch a lot more. It’s a good book but as a Harry Bosch fan I’d say it doesn’t add to the case that the Harry Bosch tv series should continue. It’s more making a case for a new series. I hope for more Harry Bosch and not as a bit character even if we read more books about the past cases. It is fiction so perhaps there is more to delve into. I appreciate Connelly may like to explore new things though. He’s an excellent writer. However, I discovered Bosch late through the Lincoln Lawyer tv series. Now I’m an admirer of Bosch and his strong ethics and complex character, I’d rather read more about him, and I love Titus Welliver in the role. I know there is a movement to bring Bosch back to the screen. Once again, this book will not help make that case. Good as it is, it’s not Bosch as stated on the cover. It’s a Ballard and MADDIE Bosch novel more than Harry Bosch.
