If I could give this show 0 stars, I would in a heartbeat. Extremely disappointed in James Corden's latest remarks regarding BTS attending the UN General Assembly. A lot of ignorance was in his statements when he brought up BTS' fanbase, ARMY, and how they are perceived by the public. Not only were the comments in poor taste, but they were completely unnecessary and irrelevant to the topic at hand.
Instead of making a quick punchline about BTS' listeners, he should have been promoting the message that BTS spread during their speech to hundreds of leaders across the globe.
BTS is so much more than their fanbase; they are hardworking individuals with a passion for respect and kindness with the overall agenda of making the world a better place. Their speech tackled the importance of uplifting our youth during the pandemic, and how we can lean on each other in order to see another day.
James' comments were also untrue and biased. BTS's fanbase is not a bunch of 15-year-olds girls with nothing better to do, ARMY is a collection of diverse people of various ages, backgrounds, and races. To generalize and stereotype all of BTS' fans is a great disservice to not only ARMY, but also to BTS themselves.
I hope James takes this constructive criticism and learns to better inform himself of the guests that he is speaking about on his show; I do believe that he owes BTS an apology regarding his rude word choice and poor actions.
