So I was hesitant at watching the show at first, but came to my gut. I binged the first few episodes on my phone and it was very good and clever. The script was solid, the acting was very good for child actors. The characters had their own quirky personality.
So one of the most critiqued things for Stranger Things was swearing, implied sex (but no nudity), kissing, drugs, smoking, and underage alcohol consumption. But first of all, you gotta think, this is set in the 80s when everything was wild. The Duffer Brothers did a great job resembling the 80s as a matter of fact (no offense)! Smoking wasnโt considered unhealthy and swearing wasnโt as monitored.
I think every 10+ kid should be able to watch this show. Every 10+ kid knows what swearing, sex, drugs, smoking, alcohol, is, or should know. As long as you make sure they know it isnโt good to do any of it, they are completely fine. The only thing I would say is that there is a lot of gore, but this also a PG-13 horror and sci-fi show so what do you expect?
The Duffer Brothers also demonstrate how hard it is to go through a loss and it could lead to the person thinking crazy things such as when Joyce refused to go to Willโs funeral because she thought it wasnโt Willโs body because it didnโt have a birthmark Will always had.
Overall VERY GOOD SHOW I canโt wait for season 3!
