75 year old male in reasonable shape (still jog 5k's) as reference. interested in how the movie and characters are viewed by different generations. personally not thrilled with the selfish, stubborn and somewhat narcissist Thelma. perhaps why the daughter appears terrible neurotic. also, stereotyping the lone oldsters; though much may be true. as they way, getting old isn't for sissies. I suppose the plot is interesting but a lot of developments along the way are highly improbable, which requires the viewer to ignore. there are some mostly good natured yucks. McDowell played an interesting role - a shame there wasn't more time to develop it.. But bravo to Mr. Roundtree for producing one of the few admirable and stable charactors in the movie. It's a nice coda for a long and varied career and if a fan at all, would be a reason to watch this movie.
