This show was awesome. I have not read the silmarillion but I've read the other Lord of the rings books and the Hobbit. Nothing in the show bothered me and it was well written and interesting. I think it deserves much higher reviews. The LOTR purists are giving the show 1 star. That is so unfair. The show is very good, maybe it's not perfection but it's very good and fun to watch. I question why people are giving the show 1 star, perhaps because they feel the story didn't follow the exact canon?. The show isn't perfect and maybe it doesn't follow canon exactly, but it deserves alot more than 1 star. If the most expensive show ever gets low ratings, the producers will not continue to make the show and that would be travesty.
