I was absorbed from start to finish. De Niro was simply magnificent. His ability to portray angst while maintaining an impenetrable strength is almost unique. Pacino was a perfect fit as Hoffa and Pesci was understated as the elder mafioso. One scene with his wife by the stairway coupled with his previous work in the genre elevated his menace. Cheating a fraction possibly but clever nonetheless. Anna Paquin provided the movie with a soul. Never has more been said with so few words. I'm stating the obvious here but Scorcese is the master of his field.
