Dont listen to the low reviews on this book as this book not only backs it sources up with primary sources but also paints America in not a good light. It will show you the issues with Jackson and James Polk, shows you America was not truly against slavery because its immoral but because it effected white jobs. It shines light on the truth of Americas history and some of these reviews prove the point French write Alexis de Tocqueville claims which is "americans look too highly of themselves thinking they are the only ones who are enlightened" which is mentioned it the book. this books does a good job as explaining up to the founding of America and events after wards and I recommend reading voices of freedom alongside it.
