This new series is the recipe that made the original so good and launched the star trek universe. Characters that flow together. The right amount of adult not in your face humor along with serious situations. Its a more human version like the original was. Races seeing past the colour of their skin ( aliens too) and interactions that seem more genuine. A universe the isnt about hate but working together towards a common goal very much along Genes vision. Update After watching most of the first season its clear they have fallen away from the one interesting story per episode to dragging out inter personal stories rather than just making each show its own show. Sad as we had lots of hope for this show that it would follow the original idea of the original series.
