This was an interesting and disturbing book that left lots of unanswered questions. The movie is a Hollywood attempt to make something that is conceptual and intriguing into something adapted to a more visual taste. Well it failed. The remote long island location with a view of the Manhattan skyline was pretty funny though. The producers were able to make Brooklyn and Queens disappear. It even looked like the actors wanted to be out of the show about half the way through.
