I was super excited to read The Silent Patient because literally every YouTuber—and even ChatGPT—rated it 10/10. But honestly, it was a huge disappointment. I would give it 2/5, and even that feels generous.
The pacing was so slow that it was hard to stay engaged, and I kept waiting for something exciting to happen. And the so-called “big plot twist”? I predicted it. When Theo followed Gabriel and went to the house, I immediately thought, “Maybe he’s the killer?”—and I was right. A twist is only great when it surprises you, and this one didn’t.
Overall, it felt overhyped, boring, and predictable. I expected a gripping psychological thriller, but it just fell flat for me.
