i understand why people may not like this film, but i genuinely loved it. my favourite guilty place is shark movies, and this one has to be on par as my favourite. it has a refreshing mixture between shark action, plot and development. the whole film isn’t the usual “stranded and surrounded by sharks” and it adds texture through the change in sets and (predictable but well foreshadowed) twist(s). i especially enjoyed the mixed use of the shark being clearly seen versus not, depending on if we (as the viewer) are meant to be experiencing the plot as the characters themselves would have.
an/ i’ve never read the actual book this is based off of so i cannot say whether this is accurate to the book but i enjoy the concept - as an exaggerated for consumption style of plot
