I came in with very low expectations. Having come through trashy sequels and live action remakes, I was expecting similar low quality. I was more than pleasantly surprised. This is a beautiful movie. It feels like if Gareth Edwards made a kids movie, and got a good screen writer also. Some of the best cinematography we’ve seen this decade, so many parts of this movie felt like looking at a painting. Many parts of this movie nearly brought me to tears. This is 100% a movie to watch in cinemas, it won’t have the same spectacle at home. It’s a shame this will bomb and Disney will go right back to unimaginative sequels.

Don’t expect something better than the original JP and you won’t be disappointed. This movie was great, feels like a mix between skull island and JP3/TLW. Some deaths felt very gruesome, probably the most in the series bar Zara from JW, although these are more graphic. Typical Gareth Edwards movie, the shot of Xavier under the boat with the Mosa is amazing. Highly recommend watching before making an opinion, seems like it’s quite divided. Don’t let bad reviews make up your mind. All that matters for you is whether you like it.
