I'd give the movie a 3.5/4, now some may argue but I have claims on why the movie deserved this rating. The movie itself was pretty ok and the actors were alright...but they changed the plot story, it is not entirely similar to the original novel and starts in 5th grade (6th but they got it wrong.) they entirley skip the music class and other classes she had. Also they show characters way later like Dr. Hugley, which was supposed to appear back when she was younger but appeared later. They missed out on some characters and made Mrs. V look like a annoying neighbor. They made Rose look like the villain of this story by showing that she became friends with her for a IPod and that makes me pissed. They made the ending a bit better but I did not like how Melody became friends with her again, I would have honestly never became friends with Rose if i was Melody. The book makes us imagine what the characters are like but the movie messed up and it is like the people who directed it did not read the novel. I thank Disney for ruining a movie and sometimes getting it right but still, thanks Disney.
