I was terribly disappointed with the last season of the Crown. I thought Peter Morgan didn’t keep remotely with real history. I thought the depiction of Harry was slanted and downright cruel. Portraying William as an angel and Harry as a brat was disingenuous and blatantly unfair and untrue. They are both human beings who have flaws and decent qualities too. I also thought the deliberate dishonest portrayal of Tony Blair was more a political hatchet job by Peter Morgan and obviously portrayed his own biased political opinion. He is obviously a Tory who tried to portray that awful Margaret Thatcher in a good light which she is totally not entitled to. I have enjoyed the Crown all these past years because it tried to be above baseless political propaganda and portray the all the characters in a complicated nuanced way. I guess this last season Peter Morgan decided to make his own political beliefs the star of the show and abandon his past classy standards. The last season was unattractive and petty and childish and mean spirited. I can only guess that the real Peter Morgan lost his discipline and ability to tell decent stories. He truly told us all very clearly who he is. He is a hateful small minded cruel little man. The last season of the Crown was not about the royals it was about the unkind judgmental opinions and obvious bias of Peter Morgan. What a shame he had created truly classy beautiful story telling. He ended it with a tabloid badly written last season which will leave a bad taste in anyone’s mouth who saw it for what it was garbage.
