Read up on the story and thought this has some bite, let’s give it a try. Like some other Spike Lee films, they are shot and portrayed a little different to many others. Overall I was impressed by the film, great selection of actors with a creative, sinister & creepy story. Easy to follow, well written, good acting & a nice but predictable twist. There were several areas sets I would redo, which I felt didn’t quite reflect what I was watching (long term in one room for example). Well worth a watch. It might not tick everyone’s box but you won’t feel an evening wasted. Not bad Spike !!! …. “Inside Man” is still my favourite. P.S See if you can spot the special camera technique that was used on Denzel Washington in “Inside Man” and on Josh Brolin in “Oldboy”……..almost identical.

This film reminded me of another great film, Phone Booth. The Guilty was shot over a number of days (11 days I read somewhere) and Jake produced such intensity in this role. Even with this film shot 95% of the time in a 911 Call centre, it really grab my entire attention. This film has suspense, intensity, emotion, confusion and a lost, confused soul in Officer Baylor. Wonderful direction by Antoine & a delicate music score which keeps you gripped with everything going on around Baylor. A great alternative film well worth watching.

I personally liked this film a lot. Good selection of well known actors & voices to complement their characters. Good story line & well directed. I can see many people enjoying the film a lot but some critics might not think it’s a great film, some may even say it’s not a good film but I don’t believe a lot of what critics say - best way is make your own opinion. I give it 4.5/5, well worth a family movie get together.
