I’m a Disney fan through and through, was in love with the cartoon version when I was in elementary school. This was unfortunately trying too much to redo the original cartoon version, so cringy. Casting for Ariel was off. Nothing to do with how she looked (she’s beautiful), her voice and ability to act wasn’t there. Songs were modified in a not good way, trying to be more modern but ended up choppy. Ursula was spot on though, no clue how Melissa got her voice so on point. Sometimes she slurred a bit too much but it was great overall. Perfect casting for this role. I liked that Eric had a mother and that he was adopted.
