A Disney/Pixar movie in the truest sense and spirit of Walt Disney himself. Beautifully made and one of the best stories to come out of Disney in years. Summertime, an Italian seaside village, the quest to buy a Vespa scooter, lots of pasta and the friendship between two boys seeking adventure away from their undersea world and into the world of humans. A powerful heart tugging and fun journey that has certainly impacted our family as we have watched "Luca" over and over again!

I thought some of the original dance and musical numbers were not bad and some were visually stunning. "Prince Ali" had me tapping my feet and singing. "A Whole New World" musically was fine, but the visuals were a bit dark, and not very inspiring. Naomi Scott was brilliant as Jasmine, and the strongest singing voice. Will Smith was not bad as the Genie, and the young man playing Aladdin did well. Even though I enjoyed the movie as a Disney live action remake (still not sure why the make them as they do not always stick to the orginals), it was the best effort by far.
