This movie was a grave disappointment. Not only was Johnny Deps character as Wonka creepy but totally unbelievable and lacks connection with the viewer. The fake and strange voice he puts on and weird comments are painful to watch. Rather than coming off as a cooky man who walks to the beat of his own drum he comes off as a creepy insecure pedo. I love Johnny Depp but feel this character was 150% wrobg for him. It would have been far better had they carried over his personality from Pirates of the caribbean. At least his character and quirk was believeable. I also found the parents of the children in this movie to be strange. Shoeing very little believeable concern for their children which made the whole movie just feel....contrived.
