I'm enjoying this very art deco noir infused moody Batman when he's just starting out. Writing is pacey & snappy, atmosphere is dark & ominous, & young Bats smacks the bad guys with precision, whilst making the odd mistake here & there & trying to deal with that. Villains are at their early stages or not quite yet formed - Harley Quinn is still a therapist & Catwoman wants to be larger than life, like The Bat & she has the hots for him.
I dislike only one thing about this series & that's Batsy's relationship with faithful butler, Alfred. He's constantly mean to him, shutting him down, putting up walls, & even calling him Pennyworth. I hope this morphs into the tender relationship it should be & what we've all come to know & love about the tale.
The visuals are fine, & I love noir & art deco. The animation is also stylised & smooth with nicely flowing car chases, fights, & shootouts. Voice acting is top-notch as well.
Batman fans will enjoy this.
