Once I got into the book I couldn’t stop reading. Much of the story of Austria in the 1930’s, especially under the Nazi regime, saddened me But the work of Muriel Gardiner to help so many and her generosity to the people of this great country was truly astonishing.
We have had a number of wonderful friends whose families managed to escape Austria just before the commencement of the 2WW and this book answered many questions I never managed to ask these friends due their lifetime.
