SPOILERS!!!
I absolutely loved and enjoyed this novel! The entire time I knew it was Zoe the entire time, unlike The Silent Patient where I had no idea that it was Theo Faber I wish I had real The Maidens before I read The Silent Patients because of the character cross-over. The reason I enjoyed this book so much is because of how I relate to Mariana on a personal level with her father, and how she basically has been looking for acceptance her entire childhood because she never got it from the main male figure in her life. I can not blame Mariana for being so ignorant about Sebastion and Zoe because she got that acceptance and love from Sebastion without truly knowing it was manipulation the entire time which is understandable because of her parental trauma. Since Zoe was the last family member she had left of course she would want to believe her about Edward Fosca. Even though I still don't think Edward Fosca should be a liked character because of his unprofessionalism...I just now finished the novel about 10 minutes ago, and its 1:40 am in the morning which is too late for my mind to even comprehend half the stuff I read but it was absolutely brilliant, and I can't wait till the author creates more immaculate novels such as this one.
