Okay for a new generation with no knowledge of the animated series. The live action remake speeds through Book One: Water, missing the core developmental growth of its characters and skips over a lot of the values and morals gained in the original animated series. Decent special effects compared to the 2010 movie, however, Netflix offers nothing memorable with too many deviations and skipped over segments from the animated series. Uncle Iroh, the Dragon of the West, has been given a new persona leaving out his great and iconic proverbs which could be a foreshadowing of a reconstruction of the White Lotus. Not interested in seeing how Netflix will ruin Book Two: Earth, Toph is my favorite bender and one of the most relatable characters of the series.
Please get Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konieztko back on board before continuation or abandon the project before making another catastrophic failure like M. Night Shyamalan.
