One of my favorite books by Ellroy it’s extremely haunting and will thrill you considerably. Even after 39 years the material holds up very well. This author is gifted at capturing time periods extremely vividly and accurately while also maintaining his gritty hard-boiled noir style among it. I am a big fan of the Hopkins Trilogy and highly recommend it
