The movie was fine until it's political message got more and more obvious in the movie, which really distracted me from the more enjoyable moments. You can make a strong female protagonist without reducing the others to incompetent comic relief status, but they did just that. Captain Marvel could've been great with it's new take on the character, but in the end it suffered from a forced political agenda. The character's gender shouldn't matter to the story, but they made it all about that.
