This game doesn’t rest on the laurels of its predecessor. It takes certain elements from the original and perfects them. It takes characters from the original that weren’t very fleshed out and gives them more depth. It takes already stellar storylines and enhances them. It takes a majestic soundtrack and makes it that much better. I have always been a turn based RPG traditionalist and did not like how Square changed what made it famous. That said, the gameplay is absolutely delightful. It flawlessly integrates the old school ATB system with an action style and the result is very fun. Old fans and new alike will appreciate this gem!
