Sad but not a typical Grisham book, not even sure he wrote this. No character development, so many story lines that just disappear, and bored about 1/3 of the way through. All the things I enjoy with a JG book were not there. I kept waiting for some explanation regarding the kidnapping or what was the real meaning behind the sum of money that was asked for but zero, zilch, nada. Too many unanswered questions and not enough story development. Maybe he’s preparing for another sequel in 15 years.
