Cons:
-Not enough character backstory from Yasuke (Could’ve been intentionally written to leave up to player’s interpretation/imagination)
-Cinematography in cutscenes sometimes cuts off characters partially or fully
-Character dialogue sounds awkward and robotic at times
-Some side characters feel flat. End up forgetting names
Pros:
-World is full of distractions and activities that rarely get old.
-Naoe’s intriguing story, and how her people and home shaped her as believable protagonist
-Combat feels sharp. Challenges the player to adapt to certain situations, and enemy move sets. Keeping it engaging.
-Music was masterfully composed. Taking its time in stealth or slow circumstances building tension, or pumping the player full of adrenaline with elements of Japanese Rock and distortion when a boss fight comes.
-World building never fails to impress. You’ll overhear citizens talking about their first hand encounters with notable Japanese folklore and urban legends, I’d find myself researching about the many urban legends I come across.
However, I’m not finished with my playthrough. Though, I’ll be sure to add and take away some of these points I’ve made.
