Review:
I recently watched Adipurush, and I must say it was a huge disappointment. As a devout follower of the Ramayan, I was excited to see this adaptation on the big screen. However, to my dismay, the movie completely deviated from the original story, leaving me bewildered and frustrated.
One of the most glaring issues with Adipurush is the inaccurate depiction of the details of the Ramayan. It is evident that the makers did not do their research properly, as every aspect of the epic seemed to be distorted. The characters' motivations and actions were completely out of sync with the original narrative, making it difficult to connect with the story.
Furthermore, the portrayal of Sita Mata was highly objectionable. Instead of portraying her as the epitome of grace, strength, and virtue, the movie excessively exposed her character, which was unnecessary and disrespectful. Such unnecessary sensationalism undermined the reverence that should be accorded to a character of such significance.
The depiction of Ravan, the primary antagonist, was nothing short of a joke. Instead of capturing his complex persona, the movie reduced him to a caricature, stripping away the depth and complexity of his character. This oversimplification not only undermined the essence of Ravan but also failed to provide a compelling antagonist for the hero, Lord Ram.
What frustrated me the most was the complete alteration of the entire Ramayan story. The makers took liberties with the source material, changing crucial plot points and character arcs. This unnecessary deviation from the original tale left me feeling disconnected and robbed of the authentic Ramayan experience I had anticipated.
Given these significant flaws, I would strongly advise against watching Adipurush. If you are a true devotee of Ramayan, this movie will only serve to disappoint and dishearten you. It fails to capture the essence of the epic and does a disservice to the rich cultural heritage associated with Ramayan. Save your time and seek out more faithful adaptations that stay true to the spirit of this timeless tale.
