Anyone who likes this movie clearly hasn't read the book. Yes, it's endearing and heart-wrenching and emotional but read the book and see that this movie is a trashy, underwhelming version of a book that gripped it's readers and stole their hearts.
For starters, Kya is nowhere near as wild and unique as she is made out to be in the book. She's just another basic white girl who has nothing going for her.
Tate is not the floppy-haired cute Southern boy that I imagined him to be, instead he's insanely generic and boring. Chase looks exactly like Tate which makes it hard to distinguish between the two in the movie. The only positive thing I can say is that Chase's character is just as annoying, dumb and hate able in the movie as he is in the book.
Not at all impressed by this book-to-movie re-production. Such a disappointment after such an amazing and well written book.
