The TV series is as bad as can be. Issac Asimov’s Foundation series are among the very best science fiction novels ever written. The director/screen writers took total liberties to change the plot and characters almost beyond recognition, and the altered plots distracted and barely made sense in terms of the central theme of the story. Their hubris, questionable taste and disrespect to the original literary gem are breathtakingly offensive. I endured two and a half episodes and regret that I had done so. (This is the polar opposite of the wonderful Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, which stayed faithful to the original novels but streamlined them in ways that made the story crisper and faster moving.)
