As for itโs plot, time duration, amount of characters and the cinematography involved:-
Rogan Josh is a very good paced progressive short film. The story was a very simple and based one yet the mysterious scent of "something seems to be wrong"was used by the director perfectly but the 26/11 attacks as the base of the whole short film and itโs symbolism really makes it better.
The cast really portrayed their roles and their sense of acting as if their roles were actual real people was exceptionally great(clearly that one thing that stood out).
The build up for the unexpected ending with a equally good fare share of a very awkward conversation really made it intriguing in a good way(almost felt like I was with them on the chair.
As for the ending,The plot twisting maneuver really was a very unexpected and unprecedented one as for the viewers.thats what made this short movie a entertaining experience which left me bamboozled and astonished.
The colour grading was decently good, the very subtle "yellow"hue made the atmosphere of the setting more interesting and intriguing to an extent but it also made it look a very wholesome "Indian household" setting at first. The angles were good, the aspect ratio suited the film and the soundtrack was exceptionally good.
And yes,Sir Naseerudin Shah did a great job portraying a very friendly husband, great chef and a failed father, friend and husband at the end.
The others did a good job and yea kudos to the director Sanjeev Vig,his vision really was Interesting to see come to life .
As for what it needed was a little more screen time,a bit more emphasis on the "rogan josh" and a very small amount of clarity in the ending as many found it confusing at first but yea thatโs the only little minor inconvenience but far more better than the 2 hour bs that comes out nowadays in Bollywood
Overall this is a great short movie,itโs worth the watch.Really shows how people still havenโt moved on or have moved on from those attacks and how the people who died were as human as us.The only thing is that they were at the wrong place at the wrong time.may they be at peace and yea with that being said
I rate it 9.4/10 respectfully
Loved it as it was more than a short film for most of us.
